The day I broke out of my cold and rusty cage it was a cloudy average just a normal day
And I can’t see exactly what was going on I can’t predict, expect or prophesay
Time went by slowly but then it would gather speed ‘til pretty soon it’s moving just too way damn fast
You’d better play that one last card that you have got because this will be your only one last chance
So thank god for the Queen of Hearts so sweetly
She keeps the Jack of Diamonds far away from me
Now I’d been trying for at least some seven years to break this cage out but my heart it wasn’t in it
The cuckoo is just such a wobbly, pretty bird she takes my heart right up where you can never get it
And if you’re feeling like you’re next half past dead just stop your tracks and let your axels rust
Because I’m better off without this heavy head now grind my bones right back into dust
So thank god for the Queen of Hearts so sweetly
She keeps the Jack of Diamonds far away from me
Been digging myself out of this hole for way too long just way too long
Deep down inside it I just hope that I can find out what is right from what is wrong
What’s bad from good and what’s right for us even though it ain’t always fun
Look around now for that cold and rusty cage and it is gone
So thank god for the Queen of Hearts so sweetly
She keeps the Jack of Diamonds far away from me
